It looks as though I was wrong and young James is not slowing down as much as I thought he was with his weight gain. I am so happy with his growth and he is bang in the center of the growth chart. He is just doing more and more every single day.
On Sunday will be 4 months old, (17 weeks and 1 day) and it seems so scary that he's had a third of his first year already!!!
Today he has had his final set of injections until he turns a year old. I felt SO sorry for the poor little man. He was looking so happy and excited when I was getting him ready to go out. He loves his travel system and his little eyes light up when he sees his coat as he knows we are off out somewhere. I felt guilty knowing that in a few minutes he'd be crying like anything but these things have to be done and it's all for the little mans own good. Jabs aren't nice but they can save lives, I will NEVER ever risk the horrors of what these poor little people could get if they were not immunised. There are always scares about certain immunisations but the risks are minimal and I feel like I wouldn't be doing my best to the little people if I held anything back. Look at the third world countries where they have no immunisation programmes, those kids are lucky to make it past 5 years old in many places.
Thankfully James got through his injections quickly and got over them at a very fast rate. By the end of the book filling in time and having a little bit of a bottle of milk, James was grinning away at the nurse like all was forgiven. The nurse at the surgery is lovely and always happy for a chat and always asks about mine and the kids' general health and how we all are. It's good to have someone like that around.
Finally, having been such a good little boy, I did get him a new toy. A little bar thing that dangles over his buggy. He loved that so much that he stayed awake playing with it for most of the journey back from the supermarket instead of falling asleeo within 10 seconds like he normally does.
