35 weeks 2 days

02 October 2008 11:45 a.m.

This morning I have had another check up at the Doctors surgery. All is looking the same as 4 weeks ago (where did that time go?) at my last appointment.

All looks regular, fine and coming along nicely.

Baby is still in the cephalic position head down and I have definitely DROPPED! The nurse commented on it. As I went in she asked how I was and I said fine, a little more comfortable as I felt like baby had moved down. To which she replied, it certainly looked like it and with a smile said "it's a second baby!". I didn't even bother asking if she thought that means that we will be having an early arrival as it's still pretty much her guess is as good as mine. Then when I think about it further, I don't know anyone who has gone overdue with a second baby.

So my next antenatal is NEXT THURSDAY.

In one visit I've gone from 4 weekly visits to weekly visits.

Why?

Because I am gonna be into my final 4 weeks next week. *excited little squeal* I am so close to having this baby now it's really exciting.

Any time before 37 weeks is seen as pre-term or premature but if I can hold on for anytime after that 1 week and 5 days until I reach the 37 week period then this will be classified as a full term baby.

Since my hospital admission, I am just happy to get through one week at a time and I know that this baby is that little bit stronger and ready for birth when it does finally happen.

Speaking of which, I have around 5.5lbs of child in there now though it may weigh 14lb by birth if I keep on grazing like I have done this week. It feels like I need to eat every hour during the day but I still can't manage normal size meals so there has been alot of digestive biscuit eating going on.

So as there are not going to be many more of these lets add some of this to the end of this entry.

Week 35

The average baby weighs almost five and a half pounds now.

Most babies born now will survive and without many long-term problems.

Fat accumulations plumps up the arms and legs this week. These layers of fat will help him regulate the body temperature. They also provide those cute little dimples on elbows and knees!

Hearing is fully developed, so be sure to talk to your baby.

It's getting crowded! Your baby is now taking up most of the uterus and you may even feel like your chest has run out of room! Soon enough though, baby will move down and you'll be able to breathe easily again (just not walk so easily!). (I know this one!!!!)

Your baby is 18.2 inches (46.2cm) long.

The testes have completed their descent in males.
