Spring
04 March 2008 2:28 p.m.
Despite the freezing cold we have had the odd few days, it really has been feeling like spring here recently.
I like spring. It's a season of change, of growth, of chicks, lambs and easter. Spring is a good reason that I have chosen to re-style this diary now.
I've taken spring cleaning around the house to a new extreme and have began taking so much more notice of the natural world.
Right now it is cold and a little overcast out the front but the back garden is in bright sunlight.
The flowers are in bloom. We have garlic growing that were planted as cloves and have taken well to the nourishment of the soil .
On the kitchen windowsill, we have some cress seeds. I dampened some kitchen tissue and spread the seeds out on top of them on Sunday. Today we are seeing the seeds begin to split and a trail of a white shoot is already beginning to grow.
We overlook so much because we don't have time to think of the most simple things in life.
We tend to rush through life and not really appreciate the here and now and the general miracles in life that happen every day right under our noses.
We don't always see how the smaller things can be so precious.
I guess I am just feeling appreciative and lucky at the moment.
