Week 29

19 August 2008 3:48 p.m.

Week 29 begins as a bit of a farce.

I recieve a phone call asking to make an appointment at the doctors for further blood tests. Last week the nurse failed to get a blood sample so I went to the hospital. The hospital should have passed it on to a department down a corridor but somehow, my blood was lost in the hospital. I really have no luck at all when it comes to blood issues. As long as it is healthy after all this, then that's the main thing.

After 2 attempts in each arm, I finally get the nurse to draw enough blood for testing. I feel a bit like a pin cushion this week. I must have had 7 needles in me in 5 days. Argh.

Baby is still swirling like anything especially when I am thinking about going to bed!!!

Next week I may try and get some more pics if Sharon doesn't mind doing some again. So I can do weeks 26, 30, 34 and 38 in photo form. Also I will try to write more often once I get to week 38 and count down the days.

Speaking of which, there's 77 days left officially so for the general week 29 rundown:

Your baby's head is in proportion with body now. He appears more like a newborn each and every day!

Fat continues to accumulate under the skin.

Your baby's brain can control primitive breathing and body temperatures.

His eyes can move in their sockets. Soon he will be able to follow a blinking light.

Your baby is increasingly sensitive to changes in light, sound, taste, and smell!

He is also moving from side to side, but probably still is head up. In the next few weeks, he will move to the head down birthing position. At times you may feel as if he is performing somersaults for a circus act! (that's an understatement and a half!!)

Her length is now approximately 15.2 inches (38.6cm) and weight is 2.54 pounds (1153gm)
