Week 31

Your baby's arms, legs and body continue to fill out -- and they are finally proportional in size to her head. She weighs about 3.3 pounds/1.5 kilograms and looks more like a newborn. She measures about 16 inches/ 41 centimetres from crown to toe.

You may notice your baby isn't moving around as much. Don't worry; she's just running out of space in your uterus. As long as you can feel her squirming, you'll know she's just fine. Believe it or not, she still has plenty of growing to do. You can expect her to gain at least two more pounds/900 grams before delivery.

Your baby's organs are continuing to mature and she is passing water from her bladder: good practice for the urinating she'll do after she's born. Soon you can wonder what your baby is wishing for -- brain scans have shown that fetuses have periods of dream sleep around month eight.

Baby does seem a little lazier at the moment which is to be expected as it says above but I am still on my guard after last week but all has been good since then and I think I am more or less back to feeling like I did before that little scare.

When I say baby is being lazier, I mean until a 3 hour block of wriggling and writhing between 8 and 11pm. Kicks are still in the minority but a couple recently have been like "Owwww, where did that come from?" and really quite surprised me whilst sitting at the pc desk.

Oh and when food is on the go, I get plenty of thankful little pokes and gestures.

It will be interesting to see if I still like fruit and soup so much after the new arrival has appeared.

I now have everything I need for a hospital bag other than my own sleepwear as we bought a couple of white baby pj's the other day and I just couldn't resist a little baby gro-bag. It's cream with a little rabbit on it. Very sweet.
